Move Through Fear – Take Risks To Live Your Best Life

Move Through Fear

Have you ever found yourself too afraid to make the choice? But you knew would make you happier? We often let fear hold us back from making risky decisions. However, if you take these chances, you are much more likely to achieve your goal.

I’m not telling you to jump off a cliff or chase a bear, but there are some risks you may take that will help you live your best life.

1. Set Parameters and Establish Boundaries

While a little risk is beneficial in helping you go the additional mile to achieve your goal, too much risk can be detrimental. Make sure you create boundaries before taking a risk that could have a bad impact on your life. This will help you avoid taking too many risks. That will lead to undue stress. For example, set a restriction on how low your savings account can go if you’re leaving your job to start your own business.

Then have a backup plan in place in case your savings fall short of your target. This backup plan could be as simple as mortgaging your home or car or simply finding a weekend part-time work. In either case, having these clear boundaries can relieve you of unnecessary stress about how you will pay your expenses or eat.

2. Make Sure the Conditions Are Right

Think of it in terms of wanting to try something risky like skydiving. While skydiving is always dangerous, you wouldn’t do it if the instructor said it was too windy to be safe. Basically, be sure you’ve covered all of your bases before taking a large risk. If you’re quitting your job to pursue your passion, be sure you have enough money to get started.

If you’re moving to a new location, make sure you have some work leads before you arrive. Before taking a big risk, make sure the conditions are correct. This will make you feel more confident in your decision. You will be less inclined to back out before or during the fulfillment of your goal.

However, while it is critical that you ensure the conditions are correct, they do not need to be perfect, as “ideal” situations are unlikely to occur.

3. Make a Decision and Take Action

Life without risk is monotonous, consisting of the same exact events day after day. So, if you’ve made it this far, established boundaries, and ensured the correct conditions for your risk, all that’s left is for you to take it! And you’ll be able to take the leap of faith without fear because you know you won’t fail.

Friends and relatives may think you’re crazy, but if you’ve followed the procedure, you’re unlikely to run out of options, and if you do, you’ll know what to do. Aside from leading you along the path to happiness, taking a chance to pursue your aspirations will almost certainly lead to a more successful life in general.

And what have you got to lose?
